Ministry Opportunities

The following ministry areas have plenty of opportunities for you to get involved. As you read about the ways that you can serve, open your heart and head to listen to what God might have in store for you!

Worship/Media:
Instrumentalists and vocalists that are fluid on their instrument and can learn quickly are needed. All interested need to bring an attitude of humility and honesty. This ministry requires an interview and audition. This also includes media team volunteers, who prepare and produce the sound, lighting and other AV elements of SCC services. No experience required!

Operations:
This ministry includes both setup and teardown, as well as administrative duties. Help provide a comfortable worship atmosphere at SCC on Sunday mornings and special events. Duties include setup and takedown of main stage, worship hall, and StuRev, among other duties.

Student Revolution:
Student Revolution is the junior high and high school youth program. StuRev meets Sundays, during the 11:15 a.m. service, with a focus on fellowship and fun. StuRev needs adults with a passion for youth to help out with Sunday services as well as special events.

Kids Creek:
Welcome to Kids Creek, the SCC children’s ministry! In Kids Creek, we rely on responsible, fun-loving adults to help us teach the children about the love of Christ. With four classrooms divided by grade, teachers are assigned based on availability and preference, and are given the tools needed to minister to SCC’s young ones. Teaching experience is not required; all Kid’s Creek volunteers must have a background check prior to volunteering.

Membership:
The Membership ministry includes providing refreshments at SCC services and events, setup and tear down of the connection café, and first impressions duties such as greeting and ushering. This ministry does not require you to know everyone, but to simply have a desire to make people feel welcome at SCC services and events.

Navigating:
To serve in the Navigating ministry, all you need is a friendly, helpful demeanor, a passion for encouraging spiritual growth, and a servant’s attitude. Parts of this ministry includes staffing the resource table, the SCC bookstore, and assisting with communications projects.

Missions:
The area of Missions includes many opportunities to assist with missions projects such as the Nicaragua trips, the Holt Food Bank, the Maplewood project, and “Random Acts of Kindness.” Many different skills can be utilized, including everything from sewing to speaking Spanish, to plumbing or a passion for raking leaves.

Volunteer:
This ministry involves assisting SCC staff with recruiting others like yourself to help out with Sunday services and special projects or events. Duties may include staffing the volunteer kiosk as well as setup and teardown, updating kiosk information, and helping with special recruitment events.
