Dressing in character was a must. So what does the world look like through God's imagination? Come join us as we explore the answer to that question in the book of Revelation.

Prayer Requests

You have the option of classifying your prayer request so as to ensure that we handle the information in accordance with your preference. The three categories and the handling of such prayer requests are:

 

Confidential - These prayers and praises will be provided to Pastor Tom only.

 

Prayer Team Only - These prayers will be lifted up to our Lord and Savior. However, the prayer team are free to show support of the person by discussing this prayer request and celebrating any praises with the individual.

 

Public- Prayer requests of this nature will be shared with others for the purpose of showing concern and seeking support for the person and situation. All praises classified as Public can be celebrated with others as well. 

 

 

 

 

 

New to SCC - Participating Membership Class

Want to explore making a deeper commitment to SCC?  If you're already participating, you're more than half-way there! Consider joining our membership class. The Participating Membership Class is for people who are new to SCC.  It is one class held NEXT Sunday, October 30th from 1-4pm, and it is for those who want to explore what membership means here at SCC.  Lunch will be served and childcare is available upon request. Contact the office or 394-6100 to sign up.

 

Going Deeper - Navigating Membership Class 

If you're already a participating member, you may be feeling a gentle nudge to make that commitment even stronger.  That nudge just might be God's Spirit asking you to consider the Navigating Membership Class.  This class will give you the knowledge and skills to take the next step in navigating your own spiritual journey within the community of SCC.  It will be held on Sunday, November 6th from 1-4pm, and it is for participating members who want to explore going deeper into the practices and habits of following Jesus. Lunch will be served and childcare is available upon request. Contact the office or 394-6100 to sign up.

 

 

 

 

 

Local Missions

Sycamore Creek Church wants to develop friendships within our community. Through local friendships, or missions, we seek to meet the physical and spiritual needs of our community. In order to begin to meet those needs, we need to be aware of them.

 

* Sarah Arthur's Small Group helps serve dinner at Maplewood the first Saturday of each month.   Contact Patricia Alderman at if you would like to join them.

 

* Jana Aupperlee's Small Group sorts clothing on the first Monday of each month at the church office from 8:30pm to 9:30pm after their meeting. Contact Jana Aupperlee if would like to join them.

 

* Mark Aupperlee's Small Group provides hospitality to those waiting at the Open Door Ministry. They will go again on November 2 & December 28th from 7:45-8:30am. Contact Mark Aupperlee if you would like to join them.

 

* The Agnostic Pub Group is going and hanging out at the Holt Senior Care and Rehab. They will be getting to know the residents and having a good time. If you would like to join them contact Tom Arthur.

 

 

 

 

 

Serve MSU Students

Feeling called to connect with college students? Looking for an easy way to serve students? Consider preparing a simple dinner for the Wesley Foundation at MSU. Dinners are served on Sunday night at 5:30pm to 20-25 students. If you're interested, contact the church office at 394-6100.

 

 

 

 

 

StuREV Going to the Corn Maze

This Sunday, October 23 StuREV is going to the BestMaze Corn Maze in Williamston. Students will meet at the church office at 6:30pm (to carpool to the maze) and return around 9pm. The cost is $7 cash. Contact Gaelen McIntee or Reanna Cantrall for more information.

 

 

 

 

 

Chicago Shopping Trip

All profits from this trip go to support Holly Blake's transition programs in Grand Ledge.

Caring Meals Ministry Coordinator

Coming home from the hospital is great, except that you've got to resume all your normal chores.  Sycamore Creek Church seeks to minister to people who are in a time of need by organizing our church to provide meals in these transition times.  We're looking for a person who has a heart for serving people who are getting back on their feet.  The caring meals coordinato organizes through networking in the church and an online program the delivery of meals to families who have just had a baby, had significant surgery, or are undergoing a significant crisis in their life.  If you think God might be calling you to this ministry, call 394-6100 or email the church office.  Big heart for helping people required. Networking and organizational skills required.  Cooking skills optional!

  

Parsonage

Work Day

On Saturday, November 5th from 10am-12pm, there will be a work day to do some grading around the parsonage. The       Trustees are looking for people to come and help move dirt and then grade. Lunch will be provided. To join in the fellowship contact Kevin Biesbrock at 616-690-4799.
